Manifest

Lord Byron is history's most notorious man ever to have lived. He lived and died a man of ultimate individual liberty - and made it known the world over. He came to exemplify everything related to the worth and work of man - a man of Romance, indeed.

His life and actions mark the rise of a celebrity culture that the world has never since escaped. His very character has become a pattern that hundreds have mimicked throughout history - one way or another. His life and works are a subject discussed in thousands of books and novels, he is referenced in dozens of classic literary works, and his very name has become an adjective in the English language. And yet, for a man who changed the world the instant his works hit the press, Lord Byron is a man little recognized by the society of today.

And that is precisely what I seek to remedy.

Literature is a driving force behind culture that few seem to realize - it infiltrates every sector of society from the phrases we use to the actions we take. What sets Byron apart is the combination of his works and life - you see, he didn't just write works about his life, he lived his life like his works. His name and his written accomplishments have become synonymous and one cannot attempt to discuss one without the other. Both are present everywhere in our culture - in movies, in song, in celebrities, in books, in artistry: in short, he is present in every form of art and entertainment that exists in our world.

My mission is to put out information of Byron, about his influence on our culture. Nearly every facet of our society bears some mark made by Byron -- from the arts to entertainment, from literature to movies, from music to celebrities. He's everywhere, and the funny thing is that it is a subconscious influence upon our culture.

NOTORIOUS magazine is a publication demonstrating and explaining that influence, and this site stands as a mark of progress - a journal of sorts - in that venture of Byronic discovery.

Welcome to The Byron Project - a work of ambitious proportions.
